Enabling cheats in The Sims 4 is one of the easiest things that you can do. There are only a couple of simple steps that you need to cover before activating the cheat that you want.
First of all, you want to open the command console, or the cheat box, in your game. That is done through the combo of SHIFT + CTRL + C keys on your keyboard. How to Use the Relationship Cheat in The Sims 4?
The relationship cheat consists primarily of four parts. And you need to get all of them right in order for the cheat to work. This is the main cheat:

modifyrelationship [sim 1’s first name] [sim 1’s last name] [sim 2’s first name] [sim 2’s last name] [# of relationship strength] [relationship type]

Now, this might look too confusing at first sight. So let’s explain a couple of things.
The first part, modifyrelationship, stays always the same.
The second part, [sim 1’s first name] [sim 1’s last name] [sim 2’s first name] [sim 2’s last name] is where you should put the names of the two Sims you want to affect their relationship. For example, if your Sims are called Sandy Martin and David Willow, then those are the names you should put into the cheat instead of “sim 1’s first name…” and so on. It doesn’t matter which Sim goes first, so only worry about spelling their names right.
The third part, [# of relationship strength], just means how much exactly you want to boost your Sims’ relationship. The most powerful romances, for example, have this part at 100. Simply put, here you need to enter any number from 0 to 100 and that will be the power of that relationship in the end.
But, that’s not all. If you go to -100, for instance, then you will make your Sims hate each other. Any number belows 0 starts a negative relationship, so if you’re aiming for that, then that’s how you do it! And if you want to reverse a negative relationship into positive again, just double the number in this part. If two Sims in your game hate each other with -100, then you should put 200 in order for them to love each other.
And the last part, [relationship type], dictates the kind of relationship you want to give to those two Sims. And for that, there are three types:
- LTR_Romance_Main – romance between two Sims.
- LTR_Friendship_Main – friendship between two Sims.
- LTR_SimtoPet_Friendship_Main – friendship between a Sim and a pet.
Now to combine them all in one example, this is how your cheat should look like when inserting in your game:
modifyrelationship Sandy Martin David Willow 100 LTR_Romance_Main
